Check 1- Trustworthiness and authenticity of an online rummy website is the most important check. A TORF accredited online rummy site can be trusted to follow high operating standards.
Check 2- Check Certifications which are obtained from third parties such as a random number generator (RNG) testing certificate which implies that the cards shuffling software is reliable.
Here’re the basic rummy rules to help you understand the 13 card game.
Online rummy is played between 2 to 6 players. Rummy is played either with a set number of deals or a target score, both of which is agreed upon at the start of the game. Two standard decks of 52 cards is used and each player is dealt with 13 cards. The objective of the game is to arrange all 13 cards in sequences and/or sets with at least one Pure Sequence. A Joker (randomly selected at the start of each game) can be used in the place of any other card. You can use one or more Jokers to complete/fill your sets and sequences. A Pure Sequence is a sequence without a Joker.
‘Responsible Playing’ is a business philosophy that is being followed by online gaming operators, to ensure their offerings uphold the highest standards to ensure a fair and safe gaming and business experience that protects players from the adverse consequences indulging in gameplay beyond their means or for excessive periods of time. In addition, rummy operators should exercise player protection guidelines.
TORFS enforces rummy operators should have self-exclusion measures, play limits and a program to counsel and advise players displaying aberrant behaviour. Chasing losses should be strongly discouraged and players should be encouraged to have a healthy mix of entertainment options. Minors should be discouraged from playing for stakes and therefore appropriate KYC measures should be put in place by the online rummy operators.
